CAM2 Hydra-Cat 1000 was expressly designed for hydraulic systems on off-road machinery such as the yellow machines made by CaterpillarTM and many others. It is customary in this industry to use 10 weight engine oils for hydraulic fluids. That is OK, but engine oils bring to the table several things that are not required for hydraulic systems. These things may not even be very good for hydraulic systems. For extra heavy duty performance, specifications require a minimum of 900 PPM of Zinc from the anti-wear additive. This is far beyond the Zinc levels for industrial anti-wear hydraulic oils. Hydra-Cat 1000 is a special formula just for off-road equipment. It meets all the specifications for Zinc content and other requirements. Hydra-Cat 1000 will give you better hydraulic performance at a significantly lower price than 10 or 20 weight engine oil.
